Raftr supports a variety of Post types, each with a series of tools and features designed to help provide information and build community. Some features, such as photos and videos, are available on all content types, while some have unique features as outlined below. Posts are discoverable within rafts or on the Posts feed.

Regular Post

A Post is the most basic of all content types, requiring only a caption or description to post. Options within a Post include:

  • Title / Heading
  • Post description
  • Emojis
  • Topics
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Animated GIFs
  • Attached files

Poll

Polls are interactive Posts that can be used for fun and engagement, assessments, or gathering opinions. When creating a Poll, you have the option of adding between two and ten options for other members to cast a vote on. Poll items can include optional images. Additionally, Poll creators will have the ability to decide if a Poll is anonymous, select an end date and time, and choose a timeline for an automated reminder via push notification, if desired.

List Posts

List Posts are an extensive family of Post types that offer advanced features for sharing more complex content. Raftr supports several types of list item capabilities. Our lists help you share resources in an easily accessible and digestible format, such as organized to-do tasks, a series of locations, or a directory of resources.

Directory

Create a list exclusively of people (including Raftr users and non-Raftr users) to create a Directory of staff, faculty, student leaders, and more. Directories can include locations, phone numbers, email addresses, social media links, and the option to send direct messages instantly through Raftr.

Checklist

Raft Admins can create a dynamic checklist for their members, tracking progress as a whole and individually. Creators of a Checklist have the option to view and message participants (or those who have not yet completed tasks), as well as download a .csv file of completed or not completed tasks by user. Each individual task can have a different deadline and can also have contact information or a location associated with it. Members can also receive a notification for upcoming task deadlines.

Map

Turn a list of locations into an interactive Map post. Supported by an integration with Google Maps, any location can be plotted and supporting information included on Map posts. Locations on Maps can also include phone numbers, contact information, and social media connections.

Virtual Tour

Similar to the interactive Map, Virtual Tours go one step further with the addition of a video with each location on the map. Videos are automatically played when users select the location on the map.

Guide

Creating interactive and comprehensive Guides is possible with the combination of multiple list item types. Guides can include tasks, people, locations, and more.
