Managing flagged content is available to Raft and Channel Leaders and Co-leaders when using the web version of Raftr. The flagging feature can be used to reduce spam, harassment, or other offensive content in your community. Anyone in Raftr has the ability to flag content. You can flag both messages and Posts of any kind (including Events). Flagged content is grouped together for Raft and Channel Admins to review.
How to Flag Content
To flag a message or Post of any type, select the "More menu" (...) icon next to the message or on the top right of the Post (if you don't see it, open the Post in full view first). From the "More menu" (...) dropdown list, select the Flag Post or Flag Chat Message option. From there, you will see a handful of categories to categorize the content you are flagging. You can report Posts for being:
- Offensive
- Inappropriate
- Threatening
- Spam
- Platform Abuse
- Other
Once you select a category, you will have the ability to leave a comment to explain why the content was flagged or provide additional feedback. You may also choose to report the Post anonymously. This feedback goes into a report that will be seen by Team Raftr and relevant administrative users.
Manage Flagged Content on Rafts
Flagged content reports can only be viewed on the web version of Raftr. Raft Leaders and Co-Leaders can view reports for flagged Posts and chat messages in their admin settings accessed by clicking the Settings (gear) button on the Raft header. If there are flagged Posts on that Raft, there will be a Flagged Posts section in the settings with the number of flagged Posts that are ready for review. If there are flagged messages from the Chat tab, there will be a Flagged Chat Messages section with the number of messages ready for review. (Flagged messages from other Channels will be in the Channel settings for each individual Channel.)
Flagged Posts Report
Select Flagged Posts to open the content report. The possible actions you can take for each Post are represented by a variety of icons. Here are the available options (you may also hover over the icons to see what they do):
- Remove Flag ー Selecting the red flag icon removes the flag from that Post and clears it from the report (if it has been removed from view after being flagged three times, it will restore it to the Raft feeds).
- Remove Post ー Selecting the trash can icon permanently removes the Post.
- Restrict Member ー Selecting the warning icon (triangle with an exclamation mark) restricts that member's Raft privileges so that they cannot create or interact with any content on the Raft.
- Ban Memberー Selecting the ban icon (crossed out circle) will ban the member by removing them from the Raft and blocking them from joining again in the future.
- Remove Member ー Selecting the remove icon (person with an 'x') unjoins that member from the Raft.
- Message Member ー Selecting the message icon (chat bubble) opens the composer to send a direct message to the author of the flagged Post. This can be used to give the author a warning.

Selecting Flagged Chat Messages lists all of the flagged messages within the right sidebar. Although the view is different for messages compared to Posts, the same options are available to Raft Admins. Hover over the icons to view the options for review.

Team Raftr's Flagged Content Review Process
Team Raftr reviews all flagged Posts and messages for violations of our Code of Conduct laid out in our Terms of Use. We will review these reports and may take action as we deem appropriate. This may include the following actions:
- Removing the content
- Restricting access to the content or sending the user a warning
- Terminating or limiting a user’s access to our products
- Removing Raft Admin or Community Admin privileges
- Depending on severity, temporarily freezing the Channel or Raft until the situation has been resolved
If Team Raftr takes any of these actions, your community's Success Manager will reach out to inform their contacts of the actions. The content author and the user who reported the content may or may not be contacted.
Additionally, we may conduct an inquiry for other reasons, especially if we identify a potential threat to the safety of anyone on the platform. If we feel that there is an emergency situation developing, we may also share user information with the community administrators and/or emergency personnel at our discretion. Examples include discussing self harm, plans to harm others, or documenting unsafe conditions.
